Strengthening Our Communities
At Windham Millwork, we want to be recognized as the most trusted, respected partner in our community in Maine. We want to help serve, educate, and build-up our families, friends, and neighbors because we believe this is a direct, proactive approach to stronger communities.
Windham Millwork is dedicated to enhancing not only our local neighborhoods, but also communities across America. We do this by supporting three organizations: Boy Scouts of America, Travis Mills Foundation, and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.
We believe in both charitable giving and civic involvement from our team members. Giving back of time, talent, and resources helps build more vibrant communities and enables us to remain focused on the important things in life.
We’ve listed below a few of the organizations to whom we give our time and resources. If you would like to become involved in any of the listed organizations or have a charity you feel strongly about, please let us know.
Boy Scouts of America
By supporting the girls and boys involved in Boy Scouts of America, Windham Millwork gives these youth the opportunity to explore career options while learning about fine craftsmanship. We use a hands on approach to teaching them the millwork process from design to manufacture and installation. They learn about responsibility, dedication, and service in a welcoming environment.
Travis Mills Foundation
The men and women and their families who have served our country in the armed forces deserve our gratitude and tangible support. We donate to the Travis Mills Foundation, which enables veterans and their spouses and children to enjoy their wooded retreat in central Maine. Their motto: “Rest and Relaxation for the Recalibrated.” Windham Millwork is proud to be involved in this endeavor.
Saint Joseph's College
Founded in 1912 by the Sisters of Mercy as a women’s college, Saint Joseph’s College offers an exemplary liberal arts education on its stunning campus in Standish, Maine. Windham Millwork has been an enthusiastic supporter of higher education through Saint Joseph’s College especially as the institution has embraced online learning, which now extends to 2,400 students in 50 states and across 9 countries.
Walter Johnson Scholarship
Since 2008, Windham Millwork has taken great pride in presenting a scholarship to a deserving Senior at Windham High School. The scholarship is to honor remembrance of former long time extraordinary employee Walter Johnson. The Walter Johnson Scholarship is awarded to a deserving senior who is passionately pursuing a career in Engineering or a Construction related field.
Local K-12 Programs
Windham Millwork has always enjoyed and embraced its role as a local community supporter of K-12 programs. By sponsoring teams, events, clubs, charities and graduating senior events, Windham Millwork helps the health and well being of our local communities.
