Windham Millwork was the architectural millwork company selected to help restore the historic Eastland Hotel in Portland, Me. The new Westin Portland Harborview Hotel was a $50 million renovation and is now the largest hotel in the State of Maine with 289 rooms. The original hotel, The Eastland, first opened in 1927 and cost roughly $2 million to build.

WMI was responsible for all the millwork and woodwork throughout the entire hotel. Mahogany and rift sawn white oak fill the entire project and give the hotel a sophisticated and elegant look. WMI manufactured and installed all the paneling within the lobby, corridors and ball rooms. The reception desks and decorative paneling that sits behind with the Westin logo were all furnished by WMI. The custom slatted wall is very visible upon entering the hotel both in the front and towards the back of the lobby. In all the lobby bathrooms Windham furnished and installed custom mahogany stall doors and vanity countertops. All trim and base mould were also completed by WMI. Ceiling panels, elevator panels and other decorative custom millwork can be seen throughout the entire entrance of the hotel.

On the first floor of the hotel Windham Millwork furnished and installed all interior woodwork at the Congress Street Restaurant, ball rooms and meeting rooms. Inside the restaurant WMI furnished and installed the bar, trim and massive 1,000 bottle wine display that weighs over 5,600lbs when full, hostess station and coat rack. Also included in the restaurant were banquet seating which was completed by Windham. The back bar casework features decorative pulls that surely catch your eye. In the ball rooms and meeting rooms there features custom trim throughout.

In the basement of the hotel consists of the workout area, the Spa and meeting rooms. Inside the workout area all of the paneling, casework, cabinetry, lockers, countertops and vanities were manufactured and installed by WMI. The Spa consists of wood framed glass door cabinets, desk unit, displays, custom lockers and countertops. Trim is spread throughout the business meeting rooms in the basement as well.

In all 288 guest rooms and the Presidential Suite, WMI high quality millwork is showcased. In all of the guestrooms, WMI furnished and installed closet doors, wet bars, countertops, window sills, vanity tops, and cabinets. In the Presidential Suite base, crown, door trim and valences are evident throughout. Also a custom entertainment center and paneling helps magnify the living room of the suite.

The Top of The East is the focal point and destination spot at the Westin. This restaurant/bar allows nearly 360 degree views of the entire city of Portland. Windham Millwork constructed the entire bar and back bar that lies as the focal point of the room. Custom cabinetry with the decorative pulls seen on the first floor restaurant as well as all the trim and paneling was done by WMI. The Top of The East is an incredible space and must see at the Westin.

Windham Millwork, Inc has been a part of the construction team of many hotels. The Westin Portland Harborview Hotel is a project that showcases the craftsmanship and quality of interior woodwork that Windham Millwork produces. This is not only the largest hotel in Maine but also one, if not the nicest hotel in the state.
