Windham Millwork, Inc has recently completed the entire millwork package at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The Cross Insurance Center is a 5,800 seat multi-purpose arena. The new arena will be replacing the Bangor Auditorium and will hold up to 8,500 people. The arena will be used for concerts, and features an attached 2,000-person convention center. The Cross Insurance Center is directly across the street from Hollywood Casino and Hotel. Another project where Windham Millwork has provided all the interior woodwork.
The Cross Insurance Center is a state of the art arena that features some extraordinary architectural woodwork, manufactured and installed by WMI. On the first floor of the arena WMI manufactured and installed all of the large custom trim that is present in the hallways and in the convention center. The most impressive piece of custom woodwork is the hanging clouds in the conference room.
These diamond shape custom clouds are an incredible architectural feature in an already impressive setting. There are even these massive clouds in the hallway surrounding the conference area. Within the hallways you will also notice an impressive wood chair rail that runs on both sides of the corridor. The locker room benches and cubbies in the arena were all made and installed by WMI. Also on the first floor includes custom vanities in the restrooms and the ticket counter in the entry way that WMI was responsible for.
Cross Insurance Center
On the second floor of the arena WMI furnished and installed two custom bars and one snack counter. These three bars included solid surface countertops, stainless steel countertops, paneling, ceiling trim above and casework. A curved wood handrail stretches around the arena on the second floor overlooking the first floor. Also on the second floor of the arena is a curved drink rail that overlooks the entire entertainment. This project also features suites on the second floor, where you can find custom cabinets, countertops, sinks and drink rails to help further the experience at any event.
